Students who need private student loans for 2010
2010 is coming - are you ready?
College students (and parents) who need additional funds to cover next semester’s complete costs, from tuition, books, room and board, school supplies and more… should first consider all forms of Federal student aid, grants and Federal loans before turning to private student loans. Don’t perceive that sentence wrong as private student loans can be extremely helpful as well as a last resort, in meeting the full costs of today’s education. When seeking a private student loan, be sure to compare the options that are available to you. Consider interest rates, repayment terms, late payment fees, payback schedules and read their “terms and conditions” twice. Are they going to keep and service your loan? See what their customer service is like by calling their toll-free application numbers to gain insight in to the details of the private student loan you’re considering.
Taking early steps to educate yourself about borrowing, be it loans or credit, can position you as a more informed consumer likely to be responsible with financial matters.
